Getty Images Calling All   Leave a comment

Flickr is definitely one of the most popular photography/photo-sharing sites. The Getty museum is definitely one of the biggest museums in L.A. So it’s no surprise that they’ve come together! Getty Images is a program where photographers can submit pictures to a group on Flickr, and out of the thousands of submissions a few are chosen to be sold as stock photos. That means that websites, magazines, and all kinds of publications pay to use your pictures and you’ll be payed and credited. I think this is super cool because non-professional photographers (like me) can have their work known and actually get paid (although only about $5) for it! The only downfall to this is that once the image is paid for, it can be used almost anywhere. So, theoretically, your face could be used in a magazine story titled “Is Your Teenager An Idiot?” or something similar. Still, overall, it’s an amazing opportunity, I just wouldn’t submit any recognizable photos of yourself.
